I listen to Air America Radio. Apparently, I listen to Air America Radio a bit too much, because I seem to have memorized every ad they play and now the ads are stuck in my head. (Makes me long for the days when I'd get "Broken Wings" lodged in my cranium on infinite loop instead...)
"Medicinal cannibis, for medicinal purposes..." Check. Male sexual performance enhancement treatments? Check. "Manhattan West, the skyline lending company..." Check. "Adios taco {CRUNCH!}..." Check.
The one that really gets me, though, consists of some rumbling noices and a soothing male voice who begins by saying, "Dear Mr. President," and then intones words of... well, I guess they're supposed to be words of wisdom, but frankly I have no idea what he's going on about.
I'm not going to mention the name or link to it, because last time I linked to somebody I disagreed with, they posted quite nastily on my site. But if you listen to the same station you've probably heard it too.
Also, I've changed the name of the original publication or product title to ...(W)holy Cow.
Customary approaches to conflict inadvertently instigate and sustain endless wars and disputes. Therefore, the roots to conflict need to be replaced with influences gained through contemplating for conflict resolution. Toward that end, based on elevated understanding, the (W)holly Cow highlights inexorable links between contrasting relationships magnifying opportunities to relieve opposition, with perspectives for harmony.
Regarding the evolution of humanity, worldwide customs for being ignorant of what we need to learn for change, are choking life from hope. Therefore, in order to healthfully integrate in unison all things on Earth, victory over others through conflict must yield to learning conflict resolution maintained as a habit in our perspectives. To serve that objective, the (W)holly Cow employs passages from the book The (W)hole Cow; which is based on fundamental principles reflecting the universal unity of contrast. The complement to contemplating such perspectives for conflict resolution is that in contrast, individual changes in consciousness can be effectively used to alter history at large.
The basic premise in the Cow is that in every aspect of life, contrast is necessary to perception and change. Therefore, in varying degrees of positive or negative relations, contrasting potentials in our choices always tilt toward the increase of one tendency in contrast to an alternative. Consequently, because global tendencies in human development need to achieve Character for Global Citizenship, the (W)holly Cow facilitates choosing positive, overarching relationships between universal points of opposition. Regularly consulting the Cow for perspectives for conflict resolution, life's diversity and divisions can be properly experienced as one state of unified contrast in consciousness: yin/yang, chaotic/cosmic changes, that positively/negatively, and consciously/unconsciously affect balance/imbalance in every aspect of creation.
I mean... WTF.
The worst part is that, as I said, the ads begin with "Dear Mr. President." Sorry, but if you can't state it in words that Bush is likely to understand, the whole enterprise is likely to go nowhere.
I think it's humorous, but also sad, because this is a real lost opportunity to actually communicate... something. I was hoping for a left-wing faith-based perspective. Instead, it's just more new-agey wank.
