Healing, forgiveness, and other bullshit

So, we keep getting told we need to accept the results of the election, move on, reach out to the other side, and start healing the country.

It sure would help if the other side showed the least bit of interest in doing the same. What I am seeing is a lot of gloating.

What I read is a president who says things like

"I'll reach out to everyone who shares our goals,'' adding that "I earned capital in this election, and I'm going to spend it.''

I don't know about you, but personally, if I knew that 49% of the people around me hated my guts, I wouldn't be bragging about the "capital" I earned.

I think the folks on the Right had better stop faux-earnestly going on about angry liberals and maybe try to figure out what we're so angry about. I'm not sure why conservatives are so angry, though... they did "win" and all...

Yes, as I've said, I'm bitter. But it's not about my "side" losing. I could have accepted a President McCain, even though I don't support many of his positions, because I believe that he basically has the country's interests at heart. I can't even begin to pretend that's the case with Bush. I understand that some are saying that Bush will seriously try to reach out to the entire country. Why should he? Talk about wishful thinking!
