This New York Times article talks about the ruling in Tasini v. New York Times. I remember talking about this case in graduate school, over two years ago (I think it was that long ago). What a mess that will be...I wonder if the ruling will stand in the long term.

From the San Francisco Chronicle FALK, Mimi -- Passed away June 20 in Menlo Park at the age of 83. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Jerome Falk of Los Altos; and by a loving family including her son Jerome Falk, Jr.; and daughter-in-law Nancy Falk of Berkeley; her granddaughters Katherine Falk of Oakland and Susanna Falk of Berkeley; grandson-in-law York Kennedy; her sister Phyllis Levin of Bellingham, Washington; and three nieces and one nephew in Washington state. Family and friends will gather in remembrance at her home in Los Altos on Sunday afternoon, June 24. Contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
